GLICO Life Insurance Company Limited has received the CSR Leadership Award – Life Insurance at the 9th Ghana Insurance Awards, held on Saturday, 22 August 2026.

The prestigious award recognizes GLICO Life’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and its sustained investment in Programmes that improve lives, promote inclusion, and support the development of communities across Ghana.

Recognition of GLICO Life’s CSR leadership

Corporate social responsibility remains a central pillar of GLICO Life’s corporate philosophy. The Company believes that its purpose extends beyond providing life insurance to creating shared value and addressing important social and economic needs.

The GLICO Life CSR Leadership Award reflects the Company’s deliberate approach to supporting sustainable initiatives in education, healthcare, disability inclusion, youth development, women’s empowerment, community development and professional capacity building.

Supporting inclusive education at Dzorwulu Special School

One of GLICO Life’s flagship CSR initiatives was the construction and commissioning of a modern AstroTurf facility at the Dzorwulu Special School.

The facility provides children with special educational needs with a safe and accessible environment for physical exercise, recreation, and adaptive sporting activities.

The project was developed in response to concerns about physical inactivity among children with special needs, who may have limited opportunities to participate in outdoor activities because of safety and accessibility challenges.

Beyond promoting physical fitness, the facility supports emotional well-being, confidence, teamwork, social interaction and inclusive learning. It also enables special-needs educators to adapt competitive sports and traditional recreational activities to suit the different abilities of their students.

Through this initiative, GLICO Life continues to demonstrate its commitment to creating opportunities for vulnerable groups and promoting greater inclusion within society.

Creating impact across communities in Ghana

Beyond the Dzorwulu Special School project, GLICO Life has supported numerous initiatives across education, healthcare, youth development, women’s empowerment and community development.

The Company has provided assistance to educational institutions, healthcare facilities, security agencies, professional bodies, charitable organisations and vulnerable individuals.

These interventions have contributed to academic development, improved healthcare delivery, stronger emergency-response institutions, professional education and the implementation of community-based programmes across Ghana.

During the year under review, GLICO Life invested more than GHS 2.8 million in corporate social responsibility initiatives, reinforcing its commitment to creating meaningful and sustainable social impact.

Promoting insurance education and professional development

GLICO Life has also contributed to the development of Ghana’s insurance industry through its support for professional education, insurance awareness and capacity-building initiatives.
